Diz Hesling has 12 years' experience of research, investigation and reporting across China. After a BA in History and Economics with Mandarin at Edinburgh University, she joined the China People's Daily as a researcher and translator. She has since then researched and made documentary reports and films on the economic and social aspects of China's industrialisation. She has worked for state, commercial and NGO clients, and covered all regions of China and Tibet. She is fluent in Mandarin, and competent in Cantonese.
